How it works

  1. 01

    Drop a model.

  2. 02

The Model panel shows triangles, vertices, meshes, materials and textures.

  3. 03

Open Diagnostics for triangles per mesh and a check for holes in the mesh.

Questions

Triangles or polygons?+

Engines draw triangles, so the count is in triangles. A quad counts as two.

Are instances counted?+

Yes. A mesh instanced a thousand times counts a thousand times, because the GPU draws it that many times.

How many triangles is too many?+

It depends on the target. A rough guide: 5,000–15,000 triangles for a mobile character and a few thousand for a prop. The polygon reducer gets a model under your budget.

Need game-ready trees, plants and rocks?

FoliMesh generates vegetation and rocks with LOD0–LOD3, collision and a pivot at the base — GLB, FBX or OBJ for any engine.
