FoliMesh

3D Vegetation for three.js

Light GLB vegetation for the web: load it with GLTFLoader, wire the LOD meshes into THREE.LOD and your scene has a forest.

Made for GLTFLoader

Every FoliMesh asset is a single GLB file. GLTFLoader loads the meshes, materials and textures in one request, and each LOD level is a separate mesh inside the file.

LOD in three.js

Add LOD0–LOD3 to a THREE.LOD object with the distances you need. Far away, swap to the impostor or simply hide the tree. Triangle budgets per LOD keep the frame rate stable even on laptops.

Small files for the web

Low-poly assets use vertex colour and no textures, so a whole forest weighs less than a single photo. Realistic trees use compact bark and leaf textures with alpha-tested leaves.

Many trees, one draw call

Because the geometry is clean and shared, the same tree works with InstancedMesh: export several seeds and instance each of them for a forest that does not repeat.

Frequently asked questions

How do I load the models in three.js?

Use GLTFLoader: the GLB file contains the meshes, materials, textures and every LOD level.

Does it work with THREE.LOD?

Yes. Each LOD is a separate mesh in the GLB, so you can add them to THREE.LOD with your own distances.

Are the files small enough for the web?

Yes. Low-poly assets have no textures at all, and realistic trees use compact textures and triangle budgets per LOD.
