About VTK

VTK (.vtk, .vtp) comes from the Visualization Toolkit and ParaView: scientific meshes, often with per-point colors.

About glTF

GL Transmission Format 2.0

glTF is the JSON flavour of glTF 2.0. The scene description lives in the .gltf file, while geometry sits in a .bin file and textures in images — select them all together.
