About GLB
Binary glTF 2.0
GLB is the binary version of glTF 2.0: geometry, PBR materials, textures and animations packed into one file. It is the standard for web 3D, AR and most game engines.
About PLY
Polygon File Format (Stanford)
PLY (Stanford) stores meshes or point clouds, often with per-vertex colors. It is common for 3D scans and photogrammetry.
How it works
- 01
Drop the .glb file (with its textures or .bin/.mtl files, if any).
- 02
Check the model in the 3D preview; PLY is already selected.
- 03
Click “Convert” and the .ply file downloads.
Questions
Is the GLB to PLY converter free?+
Yes, without limits, sign-up or watermark.
Is my GLB file uploaded?+
No. The GLB file is read and converted in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Why are textures missing after converting GLB?+
Textures stored as separate files must be selected together with the model. PLY keeps them only if the format supports textures.
